Firecrest Treatments
A range of acupuncture techniques are on offer including traditional, electro, and facial, to restore your body's balance.
ACUPUNCTURE
Acupuncture is one of the oldest systems of medicine established in China. Illness and injury are viewed as an imbalance in the body. Treatment involves inserting extremely fine needles into specific points in the body to restore any imbalance and allow the body to access its own incredible capacity to heal. Acupuncture views the body holistically in a way that treats the whole person, incorporating the physical and mental body. Treatments are therefore unique to each individual and can be safely considered for a wide range of health issues.
ELECTRO-ACUPUNCTURE
Electro-acupuncture treatment involves inserting extremely fine needles into specific points in the body, then small clips are attached to the needles. The clips are connected to a device that delivers small electrical impulses which activates the acupuncture points more quickly. This treatment is often used for musculoskeletal conditions/pain and can be extremely effective.
FACIAL-ACUPUNCTURE
Facial Enhancement Acupuncture (FEA) is a natural, safe alternative to medical and surgical procedures to help combat the signs of aging. It evens out skin tone, benefits muscle tone and helps to improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles. FEA works by stimulating circulation in the face, improving muscle tone and promotes the production of new collagen and elastin. The treatment also addresses overall health thereby addressing any factors which may be affecting skin appearance.
Needle-Free Treatments

Gua Sha
This treatment involves scraping over the skin to promote production of light petechiae (small, red-like dots under the skin). The process is believed to help blood flow and can create a “lifting” effect on your skin, which some say may help lessen toxins in your body and promote healing.

Cupping
This ancient therapy has been used for centuries to ease pain. It involves placing suction cups (glass or rubber) on the body (pain area) to increase circulation and blood flow, thereby loosening the fascia or connective tissue and stimulating the natural healing process.

Moxibustion ('Moxa')
Moxibustion is a traditional Chinese medicine technique often used in conjunction with acupuncture, whereby ‘moxa’ (Mugwart) is placed on skin directly or indirectly (via acupuncture needles) and burned to generate heat into the body. This treatment is believed to stimulate circulation and increase the body’s energy.
Any of the needle-free treatments can be used to compliment your acupuncture treatment or can be used as stand-alone therapies. Use of these needle free modalities are dependent on diagnosis and would be discussed with you during an appointment.
